Replacing your
old atmospheric gas-fired boiler boost your system's
efficiency from around 74% to around 83%. In layman's terms,
you can slash anywhere between 5% and 11% off your heating
bill on an annual basis.
-
Replacing your
classical radiators with gentle-heat models will cut your
gas bill a touch further back.
-
Then, combined
with an appropriate regulation system, your system can
become even more efficient.
-
With all the
above combined, you can look forward to savings of about 15%
on your gas bill.
-
Well-kept modern
boilers also release a significantly lower amount of
pollutants.
-
Changing the
heater also involves flushing the installation and checking
it is properly balanced.
-
An automatic
drain valve in good working order at the top of the
installation will avoid corrosion and the formation of
sludge.
-
Repeatedly
topping up the water levels means adding oxygen and mineral
salts to the water in the circuit. This causes clogging and
corrosion - ultimately leading to incorrect surge tank
dimensioning.

Health regulations define
chimney sweeping as: cleaning a smoke duct by applying
direct mechanical action to the inner walls, in order to
remove all soot and other deposits, from the entire length
of the shaft. |
Article 31.6 of the departmental healthcare code
furthermore states that chimney sweeping operations must
be carried out twice a year, including once during a
period when the duct is in use.
However, that same code adds that "if the appliance
connected to these ducts runs on gas, and has not been
previously used for the evacuation of products of the
combustion of solid or liquid fuels, the pipes may be
swept only once every year". |
